For an event that I hosted at “De Voorkamer”, I teached myself the act of weaving with traditional Syrian weaving techniques, to use as a medium to connect refugees with their new surroundings and stimulate them in personal integration. I designed a weaving frame where you can weave towards each other from both sides. The talks that existed from weaving towards eachother, literally made us and the partakes grow towards eachother. Every color is an intertwined conversation. They were meaningful and by learning and connecting them with the local people through weaving, they have found confindence and pride.
